Gubahan Hantaran Lesson 101 - Gubahan Duit Mas Kahwin | Close Up Shots

OK a few months back I've posted an entry on how to do Gubahan Duit Mas Kahwin. And that was like my first video lesson ever =) and thus may not be that detail enough. There's a request from some of the viewer here for me to revisit the "crumpling" part because they were not able to get that part done right. First of all for this part you must not be afraid that you might tear the bank note etc coz with the right way it won't. So, I came up with a close up video to help uols see in detail on how the "crucial" part of the Gubahan Bunga Duit Mas Kahwin is done. For the entire gubahan step visit my previous post HERE.

Starting October 2012 we also have a complete step by step guide for gubahan hantaran duit maskahwin in higher screen resolution with camera from doers angle for clearer view which is part of our DVD Gubahan Hantaran Volume 2 (sorry we're not able to give anymore free video because people are kind of skeptical when things are given for free...). The DVD is for sale @RM 20 per pc. We already have 2 volume:
1. Volume 1 contains 3 gubahan sireh junjung design + 3 video aid on how to roll/tie daun sireh
2. Volume 2 contains 1 gubahan bunga duit (handbouquet rose) + 1 gubahan telekung (bunga rafflesia) + 1 gubahan balang + 2 video aid on how to tie single and double bow ribbon
#Buy both Volume 1&2 only @RM 30 with free delivery charge within Semenanjung Malaysia. If postage to Sabah/Sarawak @RM 10, to Singapore @RM 30.

If you are not confident enough to do it on your own and you can collect your order from us in Shah Alam fyi we do accept order to help do the gubahan duit mas kahwin for you. Price is RM 60 for 20 pcs of bank note and below (irregardless of value), and RM 3 per pc for the next additional pieces of bank note (21 pcs onwards irregardless of value). Below are some sample of our previous work on gubahan duit maskahwin (rose).

Gubahan Hantaran Lesson 101 - Choosing Good Quality Glue Sticks

My glue gun "works" extra hard when I'm preparing the Bunga Pinang...the challenge owh well is...in every petals =D very good brain exercise coz it's like working on a 3D jigsaw puzzle XD. Just recently done with 100 pcs Bunga Pinang ordered by Puan Shima from Skudai [for Bunga Pinang Price List please kindly refer HERE]. Thanks puan for the order eventhough we both don't know what's ur aunt gonna use this bunga pinang for =)

And while preparing this order an idea came and I think it's important for me to share info regarding on how to choose a good quality glue sticks coz a less in quality will cost you your precious time and your glue gun too (coz erksss it might explode =)

OK without further ado of unnecessary rumbling (owh well...I've not been writing for quite sometime now...hmmm it is quite difficult to stay focus and write something informative (even merapu pown terasa susah jugak sebenonya =) and too many times tido lambat menyebabkan my thinking jadik ting tong sket XD, we're gonna provide some infos about one important material which is use to bond your arts and craft deco together, which is none other than...the glue sticks...it's the "bullet" that you melt using your glue gun. There's a lot of glue stick types and quality...at a glance all of them may look all just the same...but as in example below if you look carefully [hope my camera macro snapshop able to capture the difference for you...or it might be time oredi to get a new one kih3x alasan tak bleh blah uhuks or I should try to win a new Sony camera instead ^^ so I can capture better pics and not only on land but even underwater too XD]

As I hope you can see the glue stick labelled as B is more transparent than glue stick labelled as A. And from my experience, glue stick B is of better quality. I once buy a very "milky" colored glue sticks from other retail shop because I've run out of stock in my own shop...unfortunately eventhough it's very cheap apart from it takes longer time to melt and longer time to "froze" back...it clogged my glue gun too T_T...huarghh it really drives me crazy back then, have to pull the trigger gun harder to get the glue out. So basically a good quality glue sticks is easy to melt but not to the point of dripping, and it only takes second to bond your craft thingy. And most importantly it doesn't clogged the nozzle of your glue stick. We have the good quality glue stick in store and it's for sale for only RM 22 for 500g.

In the case of glue gun if uols wanna buy one I highly suggest opt for the one which have the on and  off button so you can control the heat of the gun easily. We also have this glue gun in store and it's for sale for only RM 15.90 per pc. Do not turn on the glue gun for too long coz ermmm it might explode...no kidding I've blew up a few already in a number of occasion when I forgot to switch it off and went away to do other things =( see arts and craft can be dangerous too if you don't take necessary precaution =) and hurmmm when I'm trauma (coz can't get the picture of the "explosion" out of my head) with the glue gun I sometimes use UHU glue...and when I have too ...I will go for the gel type coz it dry faster...but definitely not as fast as in the case of glue gun+glue stick (^_^)

Gubahan Hantaran Lesson 101 - How High your Sireh Junjung Need to be???

Sireh Junjung is a beautiful arrangement of betel leaves and flower(s) complete with "ingredients" to eat the betel with i.e. Kapur, Gambir, Tembakau and Bunga Cengkih. Even in our modern days now, Gubahan Hantaran Sireh Junjung is still a must item inside any set of gubahan hantaran. It is considered as the "head" of the gubahan hantaran set. So it is very important for the Sireh Junjung to be beautiful, pleasing to the eye.

However the design nowadays have evolve so Sireh Junjung does not need to be that sky high anymore.

haha this definitely cannot fit inside a car...and if it's this sky high you'll need to carry the Sireh Junjung on top of your head like the pics below!!!

Very menjunjung adat indeed!!! Pictures taken from here.

A modern Sireh Junjung design emphasis more on the flower arrangement rather than the betel leaves so it looks more like a flower bouquet rather than the traditional "high rise" Sireh Junjung design.

However if your engagement or wedding is held around community that strongly adheres to adat tradisi warisan melayu, a modern design sireh junjung may not be highly regarded/appreciated and thus deem unsuitable, hence it is recommended to opt for the conventional upward "high rise" design. But no worries it doesn't need to be as sky high like the one in the old days XD

And eventhough the deco for gubahan hantaran from the bride side should look more beautiful and more attractive as compared to hantaran from the groom side, but according to tradition Sireh Junjung from the groom side must be higher than Sireh Junjung from the bride side. So in conclusion whatever design or height that you choose, sireh junjung given by the groom must always be higher than the sireh junjung received from the bride. Hope this infos can help you with selecting the design/height of your Sireh Junjung which importantly serves as the head of your gubahan hantaran set. Some of you might wonder what is the role of Tepak Sireh then if the Sireh Junjung is already considered as the head of your gubahan hantaran set. OK this article on Tepak Sireh, we will need to do our research first (takut woh kalo nanti terbagi salah info) and that will be our next gubahan hantaran lesson 101 tips.

Gubahan Hantaran Lesson 101: Polish your Hantaran Fruit to Shiny Perfection

Ever wonder why some pictures of gubahan hantaran buah-buahan featured inside the magazine is all polished to shiny perfection? (most of themlah...ada gaks yang "berlapuk" tapi lepas gaks masuk mag hahaha tapi mmg huduhlah rupanya kan kalo tak berkilauan tuh especially for buah anggur) There's a secret to it!!! You won't get the shiny, glittery look simply just by washing the fruit with water. You need to give the fruit a little "spa treatment" haha...you'll need to "massage"=polish the fruit with cooking oil to make them "shine like a star". I prefer olive cooking oil better dunno whylah maybe it's kind of lighter kut...but our local minyak masak kelapa sawit can do wonder just the same, so do not fret if you don't have olive cooking oil in your home you can still polish your hantaran fruit to shiny perfection with palm oil XD

OK cara nak membuatnya tersangatlah senang, cuma guna kitchen napkin (tissue biasa pown boleh tapi lembik benyek sketlah jadinya nanti tisu tuh) dap sedikit minyak kat napkin tuh and start tapping the fruit skin lightly. My little shortcut secret >> just arrange the fruit to your liking first and then polish only the part that's visible to the eye (hehe yang bawah2 tuh tak nampak kan so boleh dimaafkan kalo tak polish pown takpe ahaks tapi kalo terlebey rajin perfectionist ada banyak masa...boleh jek takde masalah kalo sanggup polish anggur sebijik2x...kene gugusan anggur yang lebat satu malam ah plak kan polish buah2x tuh uhuks gud luck) so I strongly suggest don't waste the time ok...work smart ^^.  Ok bila dah siap massage bahagian yang patut now you can already get a shining, polished fruit inside your diy gubahan hantaran where the fruits nampak best sungguh untuk dimakan (ehem tapi walau pown dah dipolish buah2x tuh still kena basuh dengan air dulu jugak ya sebelum dimakan)

OK sume selamat mencuba. Sorry tak dapat buat demo video currently tengah away from home, nanti balik Johor I'll do a quick video guide on these k. And please kindly contact me preferably through sms or comment in fanpage (hmmm now facebook change it to LIKE...so nak panggil like page ke eks haha macam pelik XD...) Thank you and have a nice day everyone!

Gubahan Hantaran Lesson 101 - Choosing the Right Theme Color

OK in choosing ur gubahan hantaran theme color(s) like what I've mention before... if you have a favorite colour u can always set that as ur theme color and whatever color that u choose, it's best to limit them to max 3 colors. And you can pair any color with white...e.g. the all time favorite Red and White combination...

Gubahan Hantaran in Red and White

Wedding and deco ideas in Red and White. Picture taken from here.

From my analysis ramai bride&groom to be, stumble upon this blog (hehe harap2x terus jatuh hati dan terpikat then terus hire us for the job) by searching for the keyword gubahan hantaran warna Peach...

Gubahan Hantaran in Peach, Pink and Red

Deco and hand bouquet ideas in Peach. Picture taken from here.

Other favorite color that I came across in the traffic analysis is ivory/off white/krim (w'pon bunyik berbeza tapi warnanya sama jeklah sebenarnya XD)

Gubahan Hantaran in Ivory and Apple Green

off white + lime green is my favorite color combination! So I'm gonna be a bit bias in suggesting this colorlah hik3x

Beautiful hand bouquet. Picture taken from here.

Fresh Evergreen setting...Picture taken from here

And do take note that ur favorite color shud be the one u're receiving and not the one u're giving to the other party. Hence if for example the girl likes pink and the guy likes purple, the hantaran from the girl shud be in purple and the hantaran from the guy shud be in pink. So sebagai contoh hiasan bunga2 and riben2 untuk hantaran handbag shud be in pink and hiasan untuk hantaran songkok shud be in purple color. Barang2x hantaran pulak memang not necessarily warna yang sama with the theme color chosen but it's best to buy barang2 hantaran yang warnanya does not clash with ur theme color, this is just my personal opinionlah, e.g. I don't think baju turquoise jive with orange deco kan...so it's best to decide the deco theme color first before buying the hantaran item and not the other way around k...

I'm a bit conservative so I don't recommend the opposite bright color to be in the same room e.g. room=hot pink, hantaran=orange...but if u're the bold and daring type of person yang berani mencuba and it's ur wedding anyway it's not wrong to "experiment" (huhu but pls do it with caution). Dalam color palette bawah nih macam tak dasat sangat jugak combination hot pink + tangerine orange nih...

Picture taken from here.

kalo nak bagi gothic impact sket bleh pair ur chosen color with black...remember there are no rules when it comes to color, go with what makes you feel the best!

Color Palette Apple Green - Black and White. Picture taken from here.

Color Palette Lemon Yellow- Black and White. Picture taken from here.

The color trend this year is pastel which is closely associated with English theme. If u're talking about English theme, White is kind of a must...white is a traditional color for wedding as it stood for purity, faith, truth and sincerity. Other color related to English theme is Purple (the royal color of Great Britain), Violet, Lavender, Lilac, subtle Pink / Peach and Tiffany Blue.

OK now if u don't have any fav color dan rasa tak unique kalo setakat follow the trend u can try playing around with the color wheel. Untuk guna wheel color nih buleh guna 4 cara (excerpt below is from Martha Stewart Wedding and Kryolan):

1. Monochromatic means one color. This scheme is easiest to understand and the simplest to work with. It consists of one color and its different values. Use different shades of a single color, varying the hue in intensity for e.g. from ballerina pink to scarlet. Use many shades of the same color to avoid a monotonous look.

2.Analagous: You choose a color and the two colors adjacent to it on either side. When using the color wheel, remember that a gentler effect is created by combining colors that lies side by side each other, such as green and blue, or yellow, peach, and orange. Neighboring colors, such as orange, peach, and yellow, mix without clashing. Combining dark and pale shades produces a richer effect.

3. Complementary scheme uses two colors directly across from each other on the color wheel, such as, green and red. This scheme creates a contrast that can be vibrant and exciting or soothing and relaxing depending on what value of the colors you use. With this scheme it works best to allow one color to be the dominant so that the two colors don’t compete with each other. Reds and greens are opposite colors, and like most opposites, at their brightest, they look more bold than beautiful together. However when both shades are muted e.g. mauve and citrus green, the effect is subtle and sophisticated.

4.Triad, this scheme uses a combination of any three colors that are an equal distance from each other on the color wheel. It can be a lively environment so it’s best to let one color dominate and to use toned down versions of the other two colors. The toned downed 2 colors don't have to be the same distance from each other, just the same distance from the first color.

Hope the infos provided in here can help you in choosing the right color not only for ur gubahan hantaran theme but the whole wedding or engagement deco setting and later as color guidelines in painting ur new home too!
